Chooch Enterprises is pleased to provide you with this kit for the Soo Line/ Wisconsin Central’s single sheathed boxcar. This is the second of three Soo Line cars Chooch will offer. (Kit 813 with Dreadnaught ends will be available late/spring 2010.)
The Soo and its subsidiary possessed a very large fleet of single sheathed boxcars with a unique saw tooth pattern on the side. The side posts extended below the side sill create the saw tooth look. There were detail differences between the various lots, ranging from deep fish belly center sills, Murphy roofs and composite ends to the later cars with steel ends, Chicago Cleveland radial roofs and straight center sills. Kit #812 is based upon the 1926 Pullman-built order (Lot 5406) numbered in 134400-135398 (500 cars).
